| What: | NEXT, the curated invitational of emerging art, will take place on the 7th floor of the Merchandise Mart and run concurrently with Art Chicago. NEXT, developed in partnership with Kavi Gupta and Christian Viveros-Fauné, will provide an international platform for ground-breaking and inventive expression not found anywhere else. NEXT will include works from both commercial and non-commercial arts organizations--galleries, project spaces, art publications and key private contemporary collections from around the world. |
| Why: | As the international exposition of new art, the goal of NEXT is to broaden and heighten the exposure of emerging and contemporary art and artists by providing a showcase for the best in new art. An opportunity to redefine the relationship between art and its public, NEXT is a portal to seeing contemporary art in new, innovative, eye-opening ways. |
